PAPER

Dissecting deeply brewing racial tensions before they erupt into the next incident is the role of PAPER, an online editorial examining the roles of different institutions in the forming of the Asian American identity movement. Waiting for our next opportunity is an open call for a martyr, and the world will remain silent until another family is violently robbed of their livelihood which is why preemptive action needs to be taken. The rich background of Asian Americans lends itself to a reevaluation of who we are and what we stand for as a racial minority dealing with threats of anger, violence, and unrepentant discrimination in the face of historical events such as the Chinese Exclusion Act and the murder of Vincent Chin. PAPER reevaluates the indiscriminate nature of these attacks, and discusses what the landscape will look like in the wake of future developments.
