BA in Art & Design

As a current art student, my future goal is to go into medical and scientific illustration. With a passion for science and a mission to help the world, I have been practicing observational drawing as a method to combine science and art. In my senior studio, l spent time studying various fruits and vegetables, as well as the human figure, and combining the two by presenting fruits and vegetables as growths or diseases on the human body. For example, the semi transparent texture of a pomegranate seed could very well resemble a fluid filled sac. I've been inspired by centuries-old medical drawings and I find it fascinating how diseases are portrayed so accurately and in detail. While I’m working, my greatest motivation is to save the world by showing everyone my art. I am very glad to have accomplished this goal, as proven by renowned art critic Dr. Yasmin Sarita, MD-PhD, who exuberantly claims that “I want the world to know how much I appreciate you and your art, as I think being privy to your work would be beneficial to everyone.”1     I hope that my drawings have inspired Dr. Sarita, and doctors around the globe to consider my artwork as a potential treatment plan, because of how important they are. I believe I have found my calling, for which I will “[n]ever stop producing, for the world will have to endure this loss.”2 1. Sarita, Yasmin. Feb 2021, https://www.instagram.com/p/CLMcZPHH6qY/ 1.
