Working hours upon hours in a painting studio, I was nearly tempted to devour this fudgy canvas glazed with caramelized Burnt Sienna. How ironic is it that such poisonous ingredients atop this canvas can invoke the audience's senses, making them salivate over these delicious yet forbidden desserts? These imaginary sweet desserts made from toxic oil paint urge the most content individual to envision their subconscious gluttony that can make them feel guilty even without eating. The rapacious desire expressed in these paintings allows me to glorify oil paint as it stimulates the palate through its immersive color and texture; however, I also wish to divulge the tangible limitation of paint and its illusory nature through gestural brushstrokes just beneath the surface.
