What Now?
“What now?” Revolves around figurative paintings that verge on the line between 2D and 3D forms, by creating a muti-dimensional work that requires the viewer to physically view the pieces from different positions around the room. These paintings portray the idea that a viewer’s perspective shifts an individuals perception and understanding of the work. These pieces take on a bold vivid color that creates a sense of liveliness and action which has been especially absent in society because of the covid-19 pandemic. We have found ourselves in a world where lack of genuine communication has only intensified, along with a new lack of interaction with society. These paintings go through the confusion and exasperation of not knowing how to proceed or continue. All of these ideas have been casted together to create a work that tackles the thoughts of a new idea of working in multimedia; crossing together mediums and their characteristics, along with creating a scene of understanding in a time where the world doesn’t feel normal.
